Synergy To Transform Social Protection in Guyana

Synergy International Systems, Inc. is partnering with the Ministry of Human Services and Social Security of Guyana (MHSSS) to enhance social protection in the country. As part of its commitment, Synergy will implement a Beneficiary Registry and Document Management System for the MHSSS using its flagship Synergy Auxilium platform.

This system will align with the “Institutional Strengthening to Guyana Social Safety Net” Technical Cooperation Grant, a collaborative initiative between the Government of Guyana and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). The grant lays the foundation for the “Support to Safety Nets for Vulnerable Populations Affected by the Coronavirus in Guyana” (SSNVP) Investment Loan, which aims to enhance the MHSSS’s capacity by providing cash transfers and expanding compensatory services to the most vulnerable populations.

Selected by the MHSSS for this project, Synergy will develop a comprehensive Beneficiary Registry and Document Management System to enhance the Ministry’s operational capabilities. Powered by the Auxilium platform, the new system will centralize beneficiary data, streamline service requests, and optimize service delivery. This will enable more effective needs analysis, planning, and program improvements.

Key features of the system will include a Beneficiary Registry Module that will digitize and automate data management for Guyana’s Social Security programs. This module will simplify processes such as issuing unique Beneficiary IDs, registering new beneficiaries, and maintaining comprehensive profiles and service histories. Meanwhile, the Document Management System module will automate tasks like tracking and resolving incoming documents, as well as managing static information across multiple social programs. These advancements will reduce the ministry’s reliance on paper documents, enhance service efficiency, and improve the management and monitoring of social protection programs while mitigating risks.

Designed with scalability and future needs in mind, the new system will adapt to the evolving landscape of social programs within the ministry. Additionally, its interoperability features will ensure seamless integration with other systems, maximizing its impact and reach.

Leveraging the capabilities of the Auxilium platform, the new Beneficiary Registry and Document Management System will play a crucial role in achieving the objectives of Component 1 of the program. This component is essential for maintaining a minimum quality of life for individuals affected by COVID-19. By addressing the Ministry’s challenges in delivering timely and high-quality services, the system will minimize delays, enhance operational efficiency, and ensure that vulnerable citizens receive reliable support when they need it most.

This project adds to Synergy’s portfolio of social protection solutions across the Caribbean, with successful implementations in Haiti, the Bahamas, Barbados, and Trinidad and Tobago. It highlights Synergy’s dedication to advancing social welfare through innovative, ready-to-deploy solutions like Auxilium.

Currently in the needs assessment phase, this project is set to move into development soon, with an anticipated rollout in April.

As Synergy continues to enhance social protection in the Caribbean, this collaboration with Guyana marks another step forward in creating a more equitable and supportive environment for all.
