On November 1, 2024, the DCS Project Execution Unit received the 2024 Innovation Award for the successful implementation of the DCS Nexus. This recognition, presented during the DCS Staff Awards Ceremony, highlights the transformative impact of DCS Nexus in reshaping correctional facility management across Jamaica.
Launched through the collaboration of Jamaica’s Ministry of National Security, DCS, Synergy International Systems, PriceWaterHouseCoopers, and key stakeholders, the DCS Nexus system is setting new standards of efficiency and accountability in correctional management. By seamlessly integrating data, enabling faster decision-making, and streamlining day-to-day operations, this cutting-edge system enhances the effectiveness, transparency, and security of Jamaica’s correctional services.
DCS Nexus has redefined correctional management, providing a data-driven platform that is now integral to the daily operations of Jamaica’s correctional facilities. This innovative system reflects Synergy’s dedication to digital justice solutions—a commitment that has positively impacted communities in over 80 countries worldwide.

In 2022, Synergy was awarded the contract to implement Jamaica’s Jail Management System (JMS), supported by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and in partnership with PriceWaterHouseCoopers. This project is part of the Ministry of National Security’s Five-Pillar Strategy for Crime Prevention and Citizen Security.
