In November 2025, Sergey Barseghyan, Head of Systems Analysis of Synergy’s e-Justice department, and Niceson Karungi, e-Justice expert, delivered specialized trainings for the Sheriff Office of Zimbabwe on e-auctioning, a newly introduced module of the Integrated Electronic Case Management System (IECMS). This module empowers Sheriff Office staff and Auctioneers to prepare and conduct judicial auctions entirely online—bringing efficiency, transparency, and accessibility to a traditionally manual process.
For over five years, Synergy has partnered with the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) of Zimbabwe to implement and enhance the IECMS, which has been operational since 2022. During this period, the platform has facilitated 160,000+ case filings and 15,000+ virtual hearings, marking a significant milestone in Zimbabwe’s digital justice transformation.
The IECMS enables electronic filing, streamlined case processing, virtual hearings, online fee payments, automated notifications, electronic signatures and stamping, among other core judicial functions. Building on this foundation, the newly added e-auctioning module supports the Sheriff of the High Court in preparing, publishing, and conducting auctions online. It also allows the public to easily access auction schedules, submit bids, and make payments remotely. This innovation strengthens accessibility, transparency, cost-effectiveness, and citizen-centric service delivery across the justice system.
Ms. Anna Chitemamwise, Deputy Head of Sheriff Services, expressed excitement about the module’s transformative potential. She noted that while daily auctions were previously impractical due to logistical and administrative constraints, e-auctioning now makes such frequency possible by reducing manual processes and eliminating travel-related barriers.
