Integrated Financial Management System by USAID’s SHAHAR Project is Improving the Way Afghan Municipalities Are Managed

USAID’s Strong Hubs for Afghan Hope and Resilience (SHAHAR) Project is supporting Kandahar, one of the largest municipalities in Afghanistan with the implementation of Integrated Financial Management System (IFMS), addressing a lack of transparency and data accuracy. Developed by Synergy International Systems, IFMS has six modules: Accounting, Budgeting, Payroll, Business Licensing, Property Registration, and Other Revenue.

Now, the municipality is able to generate computerized reports, deliver faster services, and demonstrate improved transparency in their operations.
